Matthew Weberling

Financial Advisor

Matt was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois and raised in Darien, Illinois. Matt attended Benet Academy (Lisle, Illinois), a rigorous Catholic college prep private high school. Following high school, he received his B.A. in History with a minor in Journalism from the University of Iowa. He understands that history is important, not only for critical thinking skills and understanding the world around us but how it also applies to financial planning and investment management. Understanding our history helps us understand where we came from, who we are and where we are going. This certainly applies to financial planning. Matt went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Education from DePaul University (Chicago, Illinois).

Always a hard worker from a young age, Matt started his professional career as a bank teller from the ages of 16 to 22, working full time during summers and over college breaks. Following his undergraduate degree, he became an analyst in Fraud and Loss Prevention for the largest thrift bank in Chicago, while simultaneously attending graduate school. Matt’s love of history and passion for travel led him on one of the greatest adventures of his life after completing his years at The University of Iowa; a 6-week European backpacking trip alone visiting 7 different countries. This exposure to various cultures has shaped his worldly thinking.

After the establishment of the Patriot Act, Matt was chosen as a charter team member, trained by former Federal Law Enforcement agents, to establish the bank’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Department to meet regulatory requirements with the Bank Secrecy Act. He has been a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS™) since 2007 and is a Senior AML Investigator III who has been in and around financial crimes risk management operations for over 20 years. As a veteran senior AML investigator with over a decade of experience, Matt’s integrity, analytical skills, and attention to detail are well suited to building the relationships and portfolios that set Wealthbridge apart.

Matt shares the same ‘client-centered’ investment focus as Wealthbridge Financial Advisors. He is a Series 65 securities license holder adhering to the fiduciary standard to advise and act in the best interest of clients, which goes far above and beyond the ‘transactional-centered’ commission-based focus of many other financial professionals. Focusing on long-term financial planning and investment management, he seeks to cultivate relationships with “People” rather than “Accounts”.

Matt would love the opportunity to help you partner with Wealthbridge to develop and implement a values-based professional financial plan to build and grow your wealth for a lifetime. He believes there is no agenda but yours.

Matt and his wife reside in the Western suburbs of Chicago in Darien, Illinois where they raise their two young sons. His focus on family is a central value to his own financial planning and investment decisions.
